If you let them think they have a chance, allow them to make a whole escape plan and take the time to talk about logistics, just to be walled off by plot, they will be annoyed at you and the game. To keep it concise for you, MAKE SURE THAT THE PLAYERS KNOW THEY HAVE NO ESCAPE, whether you do that through narration, a cutscene, or outright telling them is up to you, but the second you let them start table talking about a plan to escape you need to shut it down. I know you've received a lot of input already, but I just wanna say, be careful with the illusion of choice! TL,DR: Find a way for the players to have a little cool moment in your cutscene and give them the opportunity to choose what that moment looked like.
